About
Where love stories live.
True stories of love, told by the people who lived them.
The idea
Everybody has a love story they could tell for an hour. Most of them never get told beyond a few friends. 143 Memory Lane is a home for them.
Each episode, one guest tells one true story in their own words: how they met, the spark, the moment they’ll never forget, how it changed, what it left them with. Some of those stories are still going. Some ended long ago. All of them mattered.
Then we do something a little ambitious: we animate it. The guest’s real voice carries the film, and the pictures bring their memories to life, scene by scene. It’s also a podcast, and on Patreon, supporters can see the real recording sessions: the faces behind the stories.
Why “143”?
Back when people sent messages on pagers, 143 meant I love you: one letter, four letters, three letters. I (1) love (4) you (3).
You’ll see it all over the show. The airmail stripes on everything run in groups of one, four and three. It’s our quiet way of signing every page with love.
Why it looks like a letter
Love stories used to travel by post. A letter has a return address, a stamp and a little care in every line. That’s the spirit we wanted: personal, a bit old-fashioned, made with care.
Who makes it
A very small team that loves a good love story. The show is about the guests, so they’re the ones in the spotlight.
